Okay, those of you putting comments like "this book was wonderful for homeschooling my 11 year old!" really aren't helping my ego. I had to have this book because I completely bombed the math portion of my college placement tests. (Totally rocked the English ones, though!) Because of this, I got my butt socked into the "Developmental" classes for math. Naturally, I absolutely hate this book but it does get the job done.
I am rating it only three stars because the "example problems" throughout the chapters are rather vague on how to work them out. Thankfully, my professor posts lengthy lectures online showing us step-by-step how to solve the problems. Also, because I bought this book used, I didn't have access to the "My Math Lab" online portion. Again, because my professor does such a good job explaining the problems (and I am doing well on the tests), I don't feel like I am particularly missing much of anything but others buying this book need to be aware that if it is used, you will not be granted access to "My Math Lab".

I was somewhat please with the order. I just didn't see the fine print which said all materials may not be available. The title mentioned that I would get a MyMathLab Student Access but I didn't recieved that from the seller. I assumed that being mention in the title was proof that I would get the access code. I probably wont order from that used book dealer again, but I still will order from Amazon.com. Thank you for letting people offer used books. I will just verified better next time...
